UNC is now accepting 研究生uate applications for the spring, summer and fall 2024 terms and the spring 2025 term.

Admission deadlines and requirements vary by program, be sure to visit the Degrees and Programs webpage of your intended area of study for specific details.

• Step 1: Know program deadlines and requirements

  Minimum requirements for all programs:

  • A 学士学位 or master's 学位 from a regionally accredited college or university or a comparable 学位 from a foreign institution.
  • You must have a 研究生e point average of 3.00 or better, on a 4.00 point scale, from the most recent 学位 earned or current 学位 in progress. If a master’s 学位 is in progress, a minimum of 18 credit hours must be completed for the GPA of the master’s 学位 to be used, otherwise the GPA from the 学士学位 will be used. Applicants admitted based on the requirement to complete a 学位 in progress must still provide an official transcript within the first semester of enrollment at UNC showing their 学位 conferred and a GPA of at least 3.0. If the transcript showing 学位 conferred reports a cumulative GPA less than 3.0, requirements defined by the program will be added to the student’s 入学, just as they are for any admit with GPA低于3.0.
  • One official transcript from any accredited college or university where a bachelor’s 学位 or higher was earned or is in progress (if you have earned multiple 学位s, bachelor’s level or higher, an official transcript is required from each college or university where a 学位 was conferred). If you received a 学位 from UNC, you do 不 need to request a transcript from UNC. The 研究生院 reserves the right to request that 申请人 provide official transcripts from other colleges or universities 根据需要. Applicants who have earned or are directly pursuing a higher 学位 from an accredited institution without receiving a 学士学位 (i.e.(药学博士) be eligible to apply to the 研究生院 without the conferral of a bachelor’s 学位. If an applicant intends to use Veteran’s Education Benefits, an official transcript from all colleges or universities 参加了 will be required in order to maintain compliance with Veteran’s Affairs policies.

  Requirements and supplemental application materials may also require:

• Step 2: Determine costs and explore financial aid 

  Programs have different tuition based on varying factors. 访问你 学位 or program page to identify the tuition for that individual program.

  应用程序: When you beg在你的 UNC 研究生院 应用程序 you will create a password and use your email address. You can use these identifiers to return to your application multiple times before you complete and submit it, or to check the status of your application once it has been submitted. 您的应用程序 is valid for one calendar year from the proposed start date.

  Non-Refundable 应用程序 Fee: After you complete all application questions, you will be prompted to pay a $50 申请费. 

  成绩单: Request one official transcript from any accredited college or university where a 学士学位 or higher was earned or is in progress (if you have earned multiple 学位s, bachelor’s level or higher, an official transcript is required from each college or university where a 学位 was conferred). If you received a 学位 from UNC, you do 不 need to request a transcript from UNC. The 研究生院 reserves the right to request that 申请人 provide official transcripts from other colleges or universities 根据需要. Applicants who have earned or are directly pursuing a higher 学位 from an accredited institution without receiving a 学士学位 (i.e. PharmD) may be eligible to apply to the 研究生院 without the conferral of a 学士学位.

  • If an applicant intends to use Veteran's Education Benefits, an official transcript from all colleges or universities 参加了 will be required in order to maintain compliance with Veteran's Affairs policies.
  • Per program requirements, some programs may require that official transcripts from each college or university 参加了 be submitted for 入学 consideration. Currently, 申请人 to the following programs must list all colleges or universities 参加了 and provide official transcripts 对于每一个:
    • Biomedical Sciences MBS
    • Sport and Exercise Science — Biomechanics Emphasis (M.S. 和Ph值.D.)

  Official transcripts from U.S. institutions should be sent via mail directly from the educational institution in an unopened, sealed envelope or through an electronically secure digital program from the issuing institution.

  The 研究生院 does 不 accept email, scanned or PDF transcripts directly from 申请人. All official transcripts, submitted as part of the application process, are retained by UNC and 不 returned to 申请人 or admitted students.

  Other required supplemental materials: To check what materials your program requires please see Degrees and Programs to determine appropriate materials for your area of study.

  你会 need to log back into the online application systems to submit program-specific supplemental materials and to request letters of recommendation, if applicable. 项目 your program may require may include:

• Step 4: Evaluation of application

  After initial evaluation by the 研究生院, all materials are sent to the selected 研究生uate program to be reviewed by faculty. The faculty will then make a recommendation of Regular Admission, Conditional Admission, Provisional Admission or Denied Admission is submitted to the 研究生院. Once the 研究生院 receives that recommendation, we will 不ify you of your official 入学s decision.

  • Document Requirements:

    Applicants may be admitted pending submissions of required documents specified by the 研究生院 (i.e., transcripts showing 学位 conferred) before the end of their first semester of 研究生uate coursework. No student will be permitted to register for an additional semester, receive financial aid or take the comprehensive examination or its equivalent 除非 the specified requirement(s) is met. 未能满足 condition(s) within the specified time frame will result in the closure of the student's program by the 研究生院.

    Applicants admitted based on the requirement to complete a 学位 in progress must still provide an official transcript within the first semester of enrollment at UNC showing their 学位 conferred and a GPA of at least 3.0. If the transcript showing 学位 conferred reports a cumulative GPA less than 3.0, 申请人 will be given additional academic requirements, defined by the program, which must be met within one calendar year, to remain enrolled at UNC.

  • Program Requirements:

    When a program recommends an applicant for 入学 who does 不 meet UNC’s 研究生 School standards, the program faculty must provide specific requirements in writing to the 研究生院. These requirements include a list of measurable academic and professional/behavioral requirements the student must attain in the first calendar year of program enrollment in order to remain in the program. All recommendations for 入学 for 申请人 with a GPA 下面 the 3.00 must be reviewed and approved by the 研究生 Dean or his/her designee. In addition, the program recommending 入学 for such students may also be expected to submit a letter of justification, which is a rationale detailing the factor(s) considered in recommending the student, such as GPA in the discipline, maturity, letters of recommendation, applicant work samples, GRE scores or other compelling factors,

    If the 研究生院, upon compelling recommendation of the program faculty, officially admits an applicant who does 不 meet the academic standards of the 研究生院, the admitted student must complete a set of measurable requirements stipulated by the program and reviewed and approved by the 研究生院. The successful completion of provisions is monitored by the program faculty, who report attainment/non-attainment of the provisions to the 研究生院. A student has one calendar year to meet all such requirements. 学生 are 不 permitted to register for an additional semester, receive financial aid or take the comprehensive examination or its equivalent 除非 the specified provisions(s) is/are met during the first calendar year of program enrollment.

    Failure to complete the requirements within the specified time frame will result in the closure of the student's program by the 研究生院.

  • 拒绝承认: Denied 入学 refers to 申请人 who do 不 meet the 研究生院, program 入学 requirements, or both. 学生 denied 入学 must reapply to be considered again for the same program or a different program. There are no appeals of denied 入学. Denied 入学s are final.
• Step 5: Admission 不ification

  When an applicant is offered 入学 to the University of Northern Colorado the applicant will receive a status update email letting you know that an update has been posted your application status page 在你的 博天堂官方门户.

  Your electronic 入学 letter will have the following useful information:

  • Your residency classification for registration purposes. Questions about residency should be directed to Janis Hooper, 国际 and 研究生 博天堂官方 协调员, at 詹尼斯.hooper@奇怪的人.edu.
• Step 6: Confirm attendance

  Confirm that you will be attending UNC by completing the accept/decline 入学s form 在你的 博天堂官方门户.

  Activate Your Online 大熊星座 Account
  You can activate your 大熊星座 Account 48 hours after you have been admitted. 你会 be unable to activate it before then. For help, direct your questions to (970) 351-4357 or receive step-by-step directions. 你会 need your Bear Number (which can be found 在你的 博天堂官方门户) and 你的出生日期. Once your 大熊星座 account is activated, the system will assign you a Personal Digital Identity (PDID) and your university email address. 请 不e of your PDID, you will use it to log into 大熊星座 after your account has been activated. You can now register for classes.

  Check Your Bearmail Account — UNC's Student Email Service
  你会 be receiving important emails from us 在你的 BearMail account such as financial aid and faculty correspondence. 参观熊.奇怪的人.开始吧. ……很重要。 to 不e that this is the 只有 email UNC will use to communicate with you moving forward.

• Step 7: Submit your immunization records

  All students taking courses through UNC in a classroom setting or are pursuing an online program that requires five or more consecutive days on campus are required by Colorado State Regulations to supply immunization documents showing two doses of measles, mumps and rubella (coded MMR). These records can be uploaded 下面. All records should be turned in prior to registration.   Are You an Online Student?
  在线学生 不 required by Colorado State Regulations to supply immunization records 除非 you are planning on taking a course or several courses through UNC in a classroom setting during your program. In that case, immunization records are required.
